Review by Terry Ashley

This volume from Kagero is everything the modeller would want on the M5A1.

The text is in both Polish and English as are the photo captions and also includes a large decal sheet for many of the vehicles featured in the book.

The first six pages give a brief history of the M5/M5A1 and the rest of the book is devoted to superb close-up details photos of preserved M5A1s.
This includes 15 pages in colour with exterior and interior shots while the rest of the book is in black & white.

The detail photos included every part of the vehicle (except the engine) and are all extreme close-ups that show things down to the casting numbers on the crew hatch hinges and everything else you would want to know about the suspension, hull and turret details.

The interior is also fully revealed with more close-ups of the turret interior/gun mountings plus the lower hull fighting compartment to the driver's compartment and gearbox, drivetrain and forward hull.

The photos are complimented with diagrams of various parts of the vehicle as well as 1/35th plans for the M5, M5A1 early and M5A1 late models.

There are also 10 side profile colour drawings of different M5A1s and the markings of the vehicles featured are also included on a decal sheet you get as a bonus. The decals printed by Techmod are of good quality with thin carrier film and good colour register. The decal sheet saves the problem of finding good reference to use the markings on as they are already covered on the book.

This Photosniper series from Kagero are a real bonus for modellers with the combination of superb close-up photos and the accompaning decal sheet.

Highly recommended.
