USMC Tarawa 1943
200mm (1/9th) Figure Set No. 521 90004

Mirage Hobby This figure in large 200mm scale is of a USMC Leatherneck Tarawa 1943 wearing the two piece herringbone twill combat uniform introduced in mid 1942 and is armed with am Garand M1 rifle. He also sports a couple of liberated trophies in the form a Japanese ceremonial sword and Japanese water bottle.

The set consists of 16 pieces cast in a cream resin and only requires the removal of the casting blocks and some resin film before assembly. The figure is broken down in the conventional manner of upper body, legs with separate boots, arms, head and M1 steel helmet. There is also a small base to stand the completed figure on.

The quality of the resin is excellent with the uniform having a very casual feel of a well worn uniform and the helmet is fitted with the reversible camouflage cloth cover.

There is also separate first aid and field dressing pouches, water bottle and grenade as well as the Garand M1 and Japanese items mentioned above.

There are no instructions included apart from the box top colour photo of the figure but there shouldn't be any problems assembling the kit as the location of most parts is self explanatory

In all a very simple yet attractive figure with very nice details included which goes well in portraying the conditions in the islands.

Highly Recommended
