He wears the typical wind and rain resistant parachute coat with parachute trousers and boots plus parachutist's helmet with netting covering as well as wearing the gas detection arm brassard on the upper right arm which was chemically treated material that changed colour if poison gas was present and was worn early in the Normandy landings.
The figure has the full body and legs in one single casting with separate head and arms which makes for easy assembly but there are some minor casting seams on the inside of the legs and arms which are fairly easy to remove but care will be needed so as not to compromise the fine details. The left hand is cast separate with the Thompson which makes for a natural fit of the hand to the weapon.
Detail on the uniforms is again superb with clean crisp and well defined pockets, belt and webbing with natural fabric folds that do look very realistic. Facial features are equally well defined with a deep undercut around the helmet/head join for a very natural appearance.
The right arm fits very naturally resting on his knee while the left arm holds the Thompson in a relaxed manner between his legs. Personal equipment can be added to the figure as required but the back haversack has to be fitted as the webbing doesn't cover the whole back but other than that you can position the items as you wish.
Fit of the arms is spot on without any gaps or trimming needed and I added a small wire pin to the neck and at the wrist to make fitting easier but this is a personal thing with both the hand and head fitting very well as they come.
Details on the personal equipment is also very crisp and well defined and included is a small sheet listing all the items called out by number so you know what each item is which is both informative and makes it easy to select the item to use.
The personal equipment is also available separately as set #35.584 to use on other figures if required.
No insignia decals are included but if you buy all three of the US Para figures currently available direct from the Resicast a small decal sheet with 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions insignia, rank insignia and US flags is included as a bonus.
Conclusion:
Another simple yet superbly cast and detailed figure that will
come up very well with careful painting and can be used in a diorama/vignette
setting with the other US Para figures available.
Highly Recommended
