German Panzer Crew (Normandy 1944)
1:35 kit No.35001
Review by Terry Ashley

Tristar

This is the first release from new Japan/Hong Kong company Tristar and is for a German Panzer Crew, Normandy 1944.
The boxtop illustration is obviously of Wittman and his crew but the figures can be used with any vehicle of that period.

Comprising of 34 parts in light grey plastic, the parts have nice crisp details. The uniform details, fabric folds and facial features are very well done for injection moulded plastic. Three of the crew figures are full figures with the driver figure only being the upper body minus his left hand, there is also a standing Officer figure, this allows you to use the figures posed in other situations dismounted from the vehicle, good for dioramas.Tristar

The figures are broken down in the usual manner with separate arms, heads, boots and legs on the Tank Commander and seated gunner, caps for the Officers and pistols holsters are also separate.

The box has a full colour painting guide on the back with paint numbers given for Tamiya and Humbrol paints. Also on the box tabs are printed colour maps and some data panels, the four tabs on the box have different items printed on each, a nice touch for diorama builders.

In all a very nice set of figures which will come up well with careful painting.
