Tristar

This third figure set from Tristar comprises 52 parts in light grey plastic, plus another 26 pieces on separate weapons and equipment sprues. The parts have nice crisp details with the uniform details, fabric folds and facial features very well done for injection moulded plastic. All uniforms feature seams and stitching on the tunics and trousers as well as the weapons having excellent details, all four are full figures which allows you to use the figures in any diorama situation.

There are two standing figures in winter gear plus one kneeling and the other sitting on the ground, all feature nice proportions and animation, just the thing for dioramas.

The figures are broken down in the usual manner with separate arms, heads, boots and legs except one which has a full torso moulding with all figures having separate weapons and personal equipment.

Tristar have included separate weapons and equipment sprues which will probably be included in future figure releases as well and these are superb mouldings. These would have to be closest to resin quality that injection mouldings have yet come. Some of the details include the gas mask container with crisp details on the top and bottom, the meal tin container with details on both sides and the K-98k rifles with separate bolt assemblies.

The weapons with this set include three K-98k rifles, two G-43 rifles and two MP44 SMGs plus a single P-38 Walther pistol, more than enought for good variety with others left over to use elsewhere.

The box again has a full colour painting guide on the back with paint numbers given for Tamiya, Humbrol, Mr.Color and Aqueous Hobby Color paints.

In all another very nice set of figures and will come up well with careful painting.
