Review by Terry Ashley

The crew for your Trumpeter Baureihe 52 mit Steifrahmentender (kit #00210) keep reporting for duty with this set from Warriors comprising of two figures wearing typical German Train crew uniforms of the time with one wearing an Officers cap and the other a field cap while both have buttoned up jackets and trousers.

Each figure is in four light cream resin parts with just the usual small casting blocks to be removed although there is also a quite substantial casting seam up either side of the legs that will need care in removing to maintain the details. One figure also has a large resin “lump” between his legs that makes you think there has been a wardrobe malfunction on first look but this is easily removed to maintain his dignity.

One figure is leaning on his crew seat with his left arm resting on the cab window sill and head angled sideways looking forward while the other standing figure is quite animated with hand raised yelling at some unseen event or person.

The details on the uniforms is basic but overall nicely done with the fabric folds, jacket collars and buttons well defined although there are no fabric seams as with some other contemporary figures today but the facial features are well defined with good expressions.

Assembly is very straightforward but the right arm of the standing figure will need care as the casting block is right at the shoulder point and it’s not clear how much resin you have to clean off so a bit of test fitting while trimming will reduce any filler needed.

There are a couple of oddities with the sitting figure as the left arm appears thicker than the right arm as well as the right leg being thicker at the top than the left which is more noticeable from certain angles but the legs will be mostly be hidden when seated inside the train cab and may not be an issue.

Conclusion:
A nice animated set of BR52 crew figures with basic uniform detailing by some of today’s standards and a couple of minor anatomical oddities but overall will look good when painted up and added to your BR52.

The animation of the figures will add interest to dioramas as you can use your imagination in regards to just who or what the crewman is yelling at.

Recommended.

These figures can also be used in conjunction with the Blast Models BR52 crewman just released as that figure has his arm resting on the right cab side while the figure in this set is resting on the left cab side to add a bit more variety with a bit of figure mixing.
