The standard of etching is typical ABER with crisp clean etchings that have good relief where required and the usual engraved bending lines to help with this.
As mentioned most of the parts are very small detail items with the largest parts being replacement front and rear mud guard fender extensions with the usual workable hinges from ABER.
Other parts include all the external tool clips and attachment brackets for the tail lights, front horns, wooden jack block as well as brackets for the exhaust, rear crew ladder and workable hinges for the rear crew door. These will require you to remove the moulded on clips from the tools and other parts but this is easily done with the etched parts adding excellent definition.
On the inside are main round racks and stick grenade racks as well as the full radio rack with the radio face from the photo film and outer etched face plus numerous other clips and small details on the rear compartment walls. Again you will have to remove some moulded on details to fit the new parts but nothing that is too difficult.
There are also inside grommets for the muzzle brake if you don’t use one of the available aftermarket metal barrels, but a couple of those need the inner detail also, see the subject page for reviews of these sets.
This is a fairly basic set as the label says with many of the smaller finer details to finish off the excellent Trumpeter kit with only minor alterations to the kits parts (removing moulded tool clips etc.) required to fit the etched parts.
Additional ABER sets for the Emil is set #35 181 Vol.2 Fenders and #35 182 Vol.3 Ammo holders and boxes as well as a metal barrel to come later.
See the "Emil" Subjects listings for reviews of additional set available for the Trumpeter kit.
