Artillery is a new company from the Czech Republic producing resin
sets and accessories. Their first releases are a series of 1/35 kits comprising
deck sections and guns from the American privateer 'Prince de Neufchâtelof'
from the War of 1812.
There are two full kits with deck sections and side railings with full gun
mountings and all necessary accessories to complete the scene, all that is
needed is the crew.
The two deck guns featured are also available as separate kits as well as other
items such as wooden casks and barrels and a set of coffins with a plane wooden
and more ornamental coffin in the set, a hint of what might follow is a set
of 1/72 WWII barrels.
The quality of the resin casting is excellent with cleanly cast parts and
only the usual casting block to be removed. The only "problem" was with the
packaging on the smaller sets which was in the form of rigid clear sheet "boxes"
which allow you to see the contents, fine for choosing the set but it did allow
the
contents
to move about and this resulted in some minor damage on the casks and rims
of the WWII barrels.
The larger items and full kits came packaged in stout cardboard boxes with
the resin pieces in plastic bags inside which offered far better protection
of the parts than the clear "boxes".
The type of resin used and the casting quality reminded me of the resin sets
from another well known Czech company Calibre35, which can only be a
good thing.
Below is a list of the first released items plus a more detailed look at the first full set.
