Engine deck Intake details
Alternate plastic intake hatches and etched mesh parts

Dragon
The new open hatch has the side contours too sharp and leaves a small ridge at the side hull join
and it is better to use the original hatch and cut out the plastic mesh for the etched parts

Dragon
Assembly sequence for adding the ethced screens to the original plastic door.(part B15)
1. Cut out plastic mesh leaving the surrounding bolted strips (left)
2. Shave off raised bolted strip
(right)
Dragon
3. Add etched mesh after marking location to ensure proper positioning (left)
It's good idea to add the slight bend in the mesh before hand to give a more even appearance.
4. Add outer bolted strips
(right)
Dragon
5. Etched louvers added (left)
6. Engine cover in place with inner louvers clearly visible. (right)
Also note exhaust pipes, the left one is the new one piece slide moulded item while on the right is the
original two piece which is correct as the new ones extend too far out.

Engine deck intakes with plastic grills or alternate etched inserts and grills
Dragon
Fitting the etched intake inserts and outer fine grills.
Note the grills do not meet the edges of the intake openings, this is correct
but requires extreme care when fitting the thin etched grills.
The final effect gives a very good impression of the real intakes.
