Spanish Mechanized Division
"Brunete" No.1 Leopard 2A4s

Decal Sheet No. T35001
Review by Terry Ashley

EchelonEchelon
This is the first decal sheet from Echelon Fine Details and provides markings for the Spanish Mechanized Division "Brunete" No.1 with Leopard 2A4s from Tank Battalion 'Málaga' IV of 'C Mech' 10 and Tank Battalion 'Mérida' IV of 'Castilla' 16.

The decal sheet is well printed with good colour registration and thin carrier film that should react well with decal setting solutions, the carrier fim is also printed close to the edge of the markings resulting in less clear film to worry about when applying the decals and as most markings are applied to flat surfaces on the model should make dealing with any silvering fairly easy.

The four page instruction sheet is in full colour with five view plans showing the cam scheme along with the RAL colurs used and corresponding Tamiya Acrylic paint numbers to help in painting your model.

Three vehicles of each unit are shown of the instruction sheets but there are enough vehicle numbers and names included on the sheets to represent any vehicle you wish? Apart from the unit and vehicle marks there is also alternate bridge weight symbols for Tamiya or Italeri/Revell Leopard kits.

Note: Sheet scan enhanced to show the white bits

The colourful markings result in some attractive looking vehicles in conjuction with the NATO three colour cam scheme of the Spanish Leopards and this sheet should be welcomed by modern armour fans.
This and future releases from Echelon Fine Details should be worth watching as alternate markings for AFVs are fairly thin on the ground with only a few companies dipping their toe in this pond.

Recommended.

Thanks to Larry Goh of Echelon Fine Details for the review sample.
