Late M34A1 Mantlet
w/M3 75mm Gun

1/35 #F029

Review by Terry Ashley
This set has just six resin pieces cast in the usual light cream resin and without any blemishes to deal with and only the casting blocks to be removed be fore use.

Included in the set is the M34 style Shield and Rotor Shield with nicely rendered screw heads and also has a subtle cast texture with small casting numbers included on the Rotor Shield.

The 75mm barrel is cast perfectly straight and includes a slight flair at the muzzle and a small muzzle indentation which will be helpful when drilling out the barrel, there is also a small resin part to trap the barrel in the indentation behind the shield to allow the gun to elevate after assembly although the hole in this is not perfectly parallel and some minor adjustment will be needed to line the barrel up perfectly, but nothing very difficult.

The two .30cal MG barrels supplied are also perfectly straight and have nice cooling jacket details and this fits into the small locating hole on the Rotor Shield with the other as a spare should it be needed?

Another simple but nicely detail update set with the Shield fitting perfectly into the Tamiya M4/M4A3 turret openings for a straight replacement of the kit parts.
