Moulding is very well done with clean crisp details with very little if any flash or pin marks evident on the parts with just the usual mould seams. The key features of the kit includes all steel road wheels, superbly moulded one piece idler wheels are a standout as is the open holes in the drive sprocket dish. The upper hull is moulded in one single large liece with non-slip texturing included, the turret top is also a large single part including non-slip surface texturing along with individual click together working track links.

The turret ball and chain armour is included as a length of fine chain to be cut into sections with individual copper beads added, the turrret includes the Commander and Loader's MAG but there is no barrel mounted cal.50 MG included.

Markings are provided for two IDF vehicles in overall sandy brown plus a 16 page instruction booklet, the two marking options included five view colour illustrations showing the decal placement.

Conclusion:
Overall this is a nicely done kit of the early M3A1 Scout Car being dimensionally accurate with good detail if a little basic in some areas, there are a couple of issues such as the later style wheels included which will need replacing to correctly depict the early SC in the kit and the armoured driver’s panel vision ports.

The overall fit of parts is good but a little trimming is needed with some body panel fit but nothing excessive and easily dealt with and there is scope for adding additional detail as with any kit.

This kit is a vast improvement over the ancient Peerless Max kit and all it’s descendants which has been the only game in town till now with this kit now being the weapons of choice for the M3A1 Scout Car builder.

Rating 8/10
