This set has 46 crisply cast resin pieces, the casting quality is excellent with no warping or air holes present. There is the usual excess resin to be removed from the bits before use. The set includes the engine compartment walls and bulkheads, cooling fans, batteries and a very detailed engine right down to separate fan belt pulleys to which you add belts from a lead sheet or tape. All the engine accessories are there and build into a very complete engine. All that is needed is the addition of the engine wiring like spark plug leads etc. Care needs to be taken when cutting out the plastic from the kit, you have to leave small sections of the crossbeam in the kit floor. It should be noted that the bottom of the engine compartment is open like in modern cars and not enclosed inside the body shell. A separate gearbox is supplied which is not used with the engine mounted in the vehicle but is added if the engine is displayed separate, in say a workshop situation. Thanks go to Tamiya for supplying the hull engine compartment doors as separate pieces with inside detail, which eases the process of adding the engine. It's like Tamiya now acknowledge the part aftermarket companies play in the Hobby Industry and engineer their kits anticipating the release of detail sets for their kits. A superb update set, well worth the price and highly recommended.
