PE Update

Set No. PE 35012
Review by Terry Ashley
TrumpeterTrumpeter
This PE update set is designed for the Trumpeter SA-2 and HQ-2 Missile on Transport trailer (kits No.00204 and 00205) and like previous Voyager etched sets sees the PE frets enclosed in a stout cardboard foldout pack that offers good protection for the contents.

The set has four PE frets of excellent finely etched parts with nice relief on the details typified by the excellent effects on floor treadplate and seat back springs with the parts having the usual engraved lines to help with the bending process.

As with previous Voyager etched sets there are different thickness frets for added definition to the parts.

The contents of the set is:

There are many small detail parts for around the cab such as the head light guards with thin etched grills, the hinges and opening guides for the windscreen panels latch details on the engine hood as well as the driver’s foot pedals on the inside. There is also a length if wire cable with good definition to add to the winch drum on the front bumper winch.

There are multi-part latches for the battery boxes and behind the cab is the complete spare tyre rack from etched metal as is the fuel tank rack and securing straps as well as rear bumper bars and other fittings on the rear of the chassis.

All the racks, clips and securing brackets for the missile fuel tanks on the trailer are provided as etched parts and should look very good when in place while the circular missile base is also completely replaced with etched parts.

The instruction sheets have exploded view drawings showing the assembly and placement of the parts which are quite easy to follow but as always study these carefully before assembly.
Another excellent update set with the many smaller detailed parts adding considerable definition to the kit details.

Highly recommended.
