Pzkpfw.IV Ausf G
PE Update

Set No. PE 35018
Review by Terry Ashley

Dragon This PE update set is designed for the Dragon Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.G (Kursk 1944) (kit No.9020) and like previous Voyager etched sets sees the PE frets enclosed in a stout cardboard foldout pack that offers good protection for the contents.

The set has three PE frets of excellent finely etched parts with nice relief on the details typified by the excellent effects on floor treadplate and seat back springs with the parts having the usual engraved lines to help with the bending process.

As with previous Voyager etched sets there are different thickness frets for added definition to the parts.

The contents of the set is:

This set contains mainly small detail parts such as all the tool clips and racks around the hull and also including the side fender spare road wheel racks and rear hull mounted flanges between the upper and lower hull panels.

On the turret are new smoke discharger mounting brackets and retaining brackets and latch detail on the rear storage box.

The side engine compartment louvers are also provided as well as the spare track link securing clips and on the hull top is a new bullet splash guard to replace the moulded on item for better detail definition.

It is best to see the instruction sheets for the full details of the small parts included and there are also two other sets available for the Pz.IV Ausf.G to fully detail the kit up. Set No.PE35016 has the large side armour panels fitted to later Gs and Set No.PE35017 has replacement side senders with separate tread plate sections.

The instruction sheets have exploded view drawings showing the assembly and placement of the parts which are quite easy to follow but as always study these carefully before assembly.

Another very detailed set to add all those small detail parts that add good definition to the model.

Highly recommended.
