Middle East Ruin with Balcony
Custom Dioramics 1:48 Set #CD 8019
Review by Terry Ashley

This is the fourth building ruin from Custom Dioramics in 1:48th scale for those wishing to build more decorative dioramas with this set giving you a two story Middle Eastern building with balcony that can be used in any scene from WWI to current.

The set consists of 20 parts in the light cream foam resin which has very well defined details on the stonework and very little excess resin to be removed from the back of the castings.

The building is designed as a facade only as are many of this type of ruined building to use as a diorama backdrop but it is possible to add interior details yourself such as scribing wall details and adding interior fittings.

Assembly is quite straightforward with each resin part numbered and a small instruction sheet which lists the parts by number and gives brief assembly instructions, the box top image can also be used as a good reference.

The use of two part epoxy glue is recommended for assembly for strength but thick cyanoacrylate (super glue) could also be used and you may have to shave off some of the rear casting excess resin to get a flat mating surface on a few of the parts.

Additional wooden (in resin) shutters are provided to fill the door and window openings which hide the bare insides but can be positioned open if you add your own interior?

A nicely detailed building ruin with easy assembly for an added dimension to displaying your models.

See the VLS/ModelMecca site for additional info on the other buildings and accessories available for the 1:48 modeller under the Custom Dioramics and Warriors labels.

Highly recommended for diorama builders.
