The latest released from Tristar is the German Officers Field Session Set and includes three officer figures, a General, a Tank Commander, a Field officer and an adjutant all in casual poses.
The set consists of 34 parts in light grey plastic and a small etched fret from ABER with two pairs of eye glasses to add to whichever figure you desire.
The quality of the mouldings is again first class with excellent crisp uniform details on the figures. Three of the figures have the upper torso and legs moulded as one with the addition of arms, head, caps and boots, while the fourth wearing a great coat has the legs separate to allow for good definition of the coat folds. To add to this is a separate section for the front of the coat as well as separate lapels and rear waist strap, this all makes for excellent detail on the coat.
The box has colour images of the figures to use as a painting guide as well
as for assembly. There are also enlarged diagrams of the rank insignia and
decorations worn to give a guide to the colours and style. Paint numbers are
given for Tamiya Color, Mr.Color/Aqueous and Humbrol paints so you shouldn’t
have any trouble finding the correct colour to use.
As an added bonus the box end flaps have four printed maps to use as desired,
these are printed on the cardboard used for the box and you should cut out
the map and then soak in water until the top printed layer comes away from
the lower card, you can then use the map with the figures or spread on a table
in a diorama setting.
Another excellent figure set from Tristar with some of the nicest details you will see on injection moulded figures to use on there own or in dioramas.
Thanks to C.K.Pat of Tristar Model (International) Ltd for thereview kit.
