The figures are cleanly cast in light cream resin with just the normal casting
blocks to be removed and there are also some minor casting seams down the back
of one leg to be removed from the figures as a consequence of the body and
legs being cast in one piece but nothing problematic.
One thing to watch is with the arms that have the casting block at the top
of the arm and care is needed when removing this as removing too much resin
can effect how the arm attaches to the shoulder.
Each figure has the full body in one piece with all personal gear and ammo packs etc included in the casting for a good “sit” on the uniforms and equipment. The arms and heads are separate along with a M1 Garand rifle and bayonet and jungle knife to add to the figures as you wish.
The uniform details are well done with good fabric folds and seams and the uniforms have a good “used” feel to them with some minor tears and one figure not wearing a belt with his tunic loose for a realistic pose.
Figure A is carrying two .30cal ammo boxes but unfortunately my set had two right arms which I’m sure was just a minor slip up but other than that assembled without problems with the hands cast to fit the top of the ammo boxes from the Academy set.Figure B is designed to be carrying the .30 cal MG slung over his shoulder
and assembled without any issues and included an indentation on the right shoulder
for the .30cal barrel as well as the hand cast to fit nicely around the barrel.
Figure C is designed to be carrying the .30cal MG tripod and again there were
no problems during assembly but there were a couple of air holes exposed when
removing the casting block from one arm and although there is an indentation
on the shoulder for the tripod this didn’t seem to sit as well as the
.30MG on figure B.
Highly recommended
The figure set is available in the US from VLS and in Australia from Firestorm Models.
