PE Update

Set # PE 35043
Review by Terry Ashley

DragonVoyager Model have released two update sets designed for the Dragon Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf. D 3 in 1 (kit #6233), the first is set #PE35043 with updates for the 251/9 7.5cm KwK37 (L/24) version and set #PE35045 has details for the basic 251 vehicle while both contain resin and etched metal parts.

This set #PE35043 for the KwK.37 (L/24) contains two frets of etched metal and ten resin ammo rounds and shell cases.

The quality of the etched is excellent with well defined and cleanly etched parts with the usual engraved lines to help with the bending process which shouldn’t pose any problems, less so if you use any of the available etched metal bending tools.
The frets are of different thickness depending for parts such as tool clips or hull panels and this also helps with the appearance of the parts once fitted to the model.

The main parts are the new upper hull armour panels which are a straight replacements for the slightly thickish kit parts and include separate inner support brackets and separate bolt heads for the outside and have a good scale appearance.

On the interior are new ammo racks and latches for the kit storage boxes plus end caps for the 7.5cm resin ammo rounds and shell casings.

The resin ammo rounds have well defined details and the shell casings are hollowed out for a good appearance and can be used in or out of the vehicle as you see fit.

Conclusion:
Overall this is a simple update set for the 7.5cm gun version of the 3 in 1 kit and being a separate set allows you to but these parts on their own if this is all your need or get the more comprehensive set #PE35045 to add details to the rest of the kit.
