The figures are cleanly cast in light cream resin with just the normal casting
blocks to be removed and there are also some minor casting seams down the back
of one leg to be removed from the figures as a consequence of the body and
legs being cast in one piece but nothing problematic.
One thing to watch is with the arms that have the casting block at the top
of the arm and care is needed when removing this as removing too much resin
can effect how the arm attaches to the shoulder.
Each figure has the full body in one piece with all personal gear and ammo packs etc included in the casting for a good “sit” on the uniforms and equipment. The arms and heads are separate along with a M1 Garand rifle and bayonet and jungle knife to add to the figures as you wish.
The uniform details are well done with good fabric folds and seams and the uniforms have a good “used” feel to them for realistic poses.
Figure A is designed to be feeding an ammo belt to the firing .50cal and has
the right arm resting on the right knee supporting the ammo belt (there is
a small indentation on the bottom of the arm too ensure precise location),
the only issue was a small gap under the arm which could probably filled with
some thick cyanoacrylate as you attach the arm.
Figure B is designed to be firing a .50cal HB MG with his two hands posed
to be holding the firing handles of the .50cal, all that is needed is to remove
the handles from the Academy gun and position the hands at the back of the
gun which is obviously fitted to the tripod mounting.
Conclusion:
Another nice set of ‘action’ figures with good uniform detail and
easy assembly and needed the Academy MG set to complete the figures is not
a problem as most Allied modellers will probably already have the excellent
set in the stash.
Highly recommended.
The figure set is available in the US from VLS and in Australia from Firestorm Models.
Thanks to VLS/ModelMecca for the review figure.
